WE ARE THE NUMBER ONE RIDING SCHOOL IN THE WORLD

Corner House Farm’s owner and students have spent the last 10 months competing against other riding schools around the world and have come in first place.

The website Interdressage.com is an internet video competition site where people from all over the world compete against each other.  They have dressage and jumping tests which you practice at home, then video and upload to the internet.  Interdressage.com allows riders of all ages and standards to compete from the convenience of home in monthly online video competitions.  All the dressage tests are judged by British Dressage Listed Judges with help and advice from professional instructors.  Interdressage.com is the cost effective and convenient way to compete against riders worldwide.

The Riding School League competitors are from all over the world.  There is a school in Corfu, Crete, Finland, Denmark, Ireland, South Africa and a few in Britain.  It is very interesting to see the differences between them.

Corner House Farm students started competing in July 2010, two months into the annual Riding School League, so were already behind in points with the schools which started competing in May 2010.  They worked hard in their lessons trying to understand the different things they had to learn.  One thing was riding in a small arena, as they were used to riding in large one, which means you need more control of your horse or pony.

Each month Louise would video her students riding their tests, download them to her computer, upload them to YouTube and send the entries to Interdressage.com.  Everyone would wait with baited breath to see how they had done, as each entry is also an individual one, and then count up the points the school had earned and watch us climb the Riding School League table.

After the first month competing we were in 7th place, then 4th and 2nd for two months and finally in November 2010 1st place, and have stayed there for the rest of the league competition year.  Everyone is excited because the league prize is a new jump for the arena, which will have the school name and logo on it.  Each rider also receives a medal.

As well as gaining points for the school each rider earns points for the individual league, which runs Winning Riding Schoolfrom January to December and is divided into seniors and juniors.  At the end of 2010 Louise was 6th in the senior league, against 350 other competitors, and Sandy placed 29th.  In the junior league, out of 135 competitors, Kim came 7th, Alexa came 9th, Angel came 10th and Elizabeth came 30th.  So they did very well indeed.

The horses worked hard too, some being ridden by two riders.  They had to respond to the commands of different riders riding the same test.  Louise rode Handsome and one month rode Wally as well.  Sandy rode Boxer, Kim and Elizabeth rode Wally, and Angel and Alexa rode Prissy.  In December there was a bareback class which Alexa rode in and placed 2nd.  Louise and Angel rode in fancy dress (costume) and both won their classes.

It has been a wonderful year for Corner House Farm Riding School.

Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and dedication.
